We are a small, family-owned bakery that has proudly served the Bloomington-Normal community for 30 years. We are currently seeking an Early Morning Baker & Cashier to join our team!
This position combines baking, customer service, and front-of-house responsibilities in a fast-paced bakery environment.
Hours:
Tuesday–Friday: 4:30 AM – 8:30 PM
Saturday: 4:30 AM – 10:30 AM
This is a part-time position (~15–25 hours per week), with additional opportunities available during holidays and busier seasons.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to bake, prep, and fulfill customer orders
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods including cookies, pastries, cakes, donuts, and more
- Follow recipes and measurements accurately to ensure consistent quality
- Decorate and finish baked goods with icing, glazes, and other toppings
- Fill bakery cases before the store opens
- Prep and package customer orders into takeaway boxes
- Assist customers and process payments accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Clean and maintain baking equipment and workspaces
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with customers and coworkers
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Previous baking or customer service experience preferred
- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Must be able to stand continuously for 4–6 hours
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, tight-space environment with other employees
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
