Position Summary
Oversee the logistics of transporting large and heavy equipment——from shop to job site and back. Coordinate drivers, trailers, permits, routes, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe, efficient deliveries.Also manage the company’s fleet of service, sales vehicles and third-party shipping partners.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Management:
· Schedule, dispatch, and optimize routing for heavy equipment transportation.
· Manage preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
· Maintain accurate records for vehicle inspections, registrations, and certifications.
· Manage relationship with third party vendor
Compliance and Safety:
· Ensure adherence to DOT, ODOT, IFTA and other relevant transportation regulations.
· Schedule and conduct regular safety training for drivers.
· Audit driver logs and inspection reports regularly.
· Work with third party vendor to ensure fleet and trucking compliance
Logistics Coordination:
· Coordinate inbound and outbound equipment deliveries.
· Manage permits for inside and outside freight
· Manage third-party logistics providers as needed.
· Collaborate closely with sales and rental teams for timely customer deliveries.
Cost Management and Reporting:
· Track transportation costs, fuel usage, and maintenance expenses.
· Generate reports on fleet utilization and cost efficiency.
· Proactively identify and implement cost-saving measures.
· Manage and negotiate Freight and Tariffs with third part vendors
· Track and manage tariff charges and refunds
Vendor and Customer Relations:
· Maintain relationships with suppliers, repair services, and logistics providers.
· Communicate effectively with customers about delivery schedules and updates.
· Promptly manage internal and customer inquiries.
Administration and Documentation:
· Manage and maintain transportation documentation (permits, licenses, insurance).
· Ensure accurate paperwork for equipment shipments, including damage claims.
· Keep fleet management software up-to-date.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
