Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and mechanical integrity.
- Communicate clearly with students, parents, and school staff regarding schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus safely, ensuring their comfort and security.
- Maintain accurate records of daily routes, student attendance, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Provide exceptional customer service to students and their families while fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Manage student behavior on the bus, implementing effective behavior management strategies.
- Remain calm and composed in emergency situations, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
- Pass mandatory drug screening requirements.
Experience
- Previous experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred. Reimbursement of training costs is a possibility for the right candidate.
- Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance is beneficial.
- Strong writing and/or computer skills for documentation and communication purposes are advantageous.
