Job Summary
Looking for an experienced flooring installation specialist for a one-time residential flooring job. Work involves removing existing carpet and installing vinyl flooring. This is a small, straightforward job and should require approximately 1–2 experienced installers. Must have previous vinyl flooring installation experience and your own tools. Reliable, clean, and able to complete the job professionally. Pay is negotiable based on experience and scope of work.
Duties
- Install a wide range of flooring types including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy, and carpet with precision and attention to detail
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute flooring layouts accurately
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install flooring materials efficiently
- Perform floor refinishing tasks such as buffing, sanding, and water damage restoration to restore surfaces to their best condition
- Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy materials, caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and building material installation
- Ensure all work complies with building installation safety standards and industry regulations
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to interpret specifications and ensure project timelines are met
Qualifications
- Proven experience in flooring installation, including hardwood, vinyl, tile laying, epoxy floor installation, and floor refinishing
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and construction plans
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools commonly used in flooring projects
- Familiarity with building material installation techniques such as caulking, trim carpentry, cabinetry, and fixture installation
- Experience with water damage restoration and floor care techniques is a plus
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Construction site experience with a focus on safety compliance and efficient project execution
