CAM/CNC Programmer
Western Precision Products is currently looking to add skilled and motivated individuals to our team. The CAM/CNC Programmer is responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs to ensure efficient and precise manufacturing of aerospace components. This position requires proficiency in CAM software (HyperMill and MasterCAM), a strong understanding of CNC machining processes, and the ability to collaborate with machinists and leads to address programming challenges. An ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, time management skills, and a commitment to quality and teamwork.
Responsibilities include:
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines.
- Read and understand part blueprints and specifications, including GD&T.
- Collaborate with machinists and department leads to ensure programs align with manufacturing requirements.
- Conduct simulations and verify programs to optimize cycle times and toolpath accuracy.
- Select appropriate tooling and cutting conditions based on material and part specifications.
- Troubleshoot programming-related issues during machine setups and production runs.
- Maintain and update program documentation, including setup sheets and tooling information.
- Monitor and refine existing programs to improve machine efficiency and part quality.
- Support the quality management system by ensuring programs meet customer requirements.
- Work closely with the CAM Manager to meet production schedules and departmental KPIs.
Qualifications
- Proficient in blueprint reading and CNC programming
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and machining processes
- Experience with coordinate measuring machines and precision measuring instruments
- Familiarity with SolidWorks for design and modeling
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and electrical discharge machining
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 5/8's Day Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Compensation:
- Hourly range: $40.00 - $75.00/hr (DOE)
