American Traveler is hiring a Perinatal Sonographer with at least 1 year of Maternal Fetal Medicine experience for a 13-week contract in the OB/GYN Maternal and Fetal Medicine department.

Outpatient Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic setting associated with a 386-bed hospital
-
Primary patient population consists of high-risk pregnancy patients
-
1:1 patient ratio
-
Uses GE Voluson ultrasound machines and EPIC and AS OB/GYN software
-
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM day shifts, 40 hours per week

No floating required
-
No weekends, on-call, or holiday coverage required

Minimum of 1 year of sonographer experience specifically in Maternal Fetal Medicine, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Current BLS and ARDMS certification with OB/GYN specialty
-
Active license required if applicable

Advanced knowledge of fetal abnormalities and their sonographic diagnosis

Proficiency performing scans across various anatomical areas, including identifying and distinguishing normal from abnormal cross-sectional anatomy

Basic computer proficiency including email and electronic medical records
-
Professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year required for consideration

Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and establish initial evaluations of sonograms for high-risk obstetric patients

Department staffed with 5–6 sonographers daily, supported by MAs, receptionists, RNs, resource nurses, and MFM physicians and NPs
-
Orientation is typically 2 weeks or until competent with workflow

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
