Job Overview
The Senor Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records by performing advanced accounting functions, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position plays a key role in the monthly close process, account reconciliations, budgeting, audits and financial reporting while providing support and guidance to other accounting staff.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers for financial reporting
General Ledger Management
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Month-End and Year-End Close
- Lead or assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Review financial data for completeness and accuracy before close
Account Reconciliations
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Research and resolve reconciling items promptly.
- Review AP and AR transactions for accuracy
- Record payroll journal entries
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts
- Ensure payroll expenses and liabilities are accurately reflected in the financial statements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- Three years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with financial statement preparation and general ledger accounting
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
- Experience with accounting software (NetSuite)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
