North Ocean Serenity is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing physician-led mental health practice.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Applicants must have completed at least 3,600 hours of qualifying NP practice experience and be eligible to practice in New York without a written practice agreement with a collaborating physician.
This position is specifically for an experienced PMHNP. New graduates or candidates who have not yet completed the required 3,600 practice hours are not being considered for this opening.
Position Responsibilities
- Psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
- Psychiatric medication management
- Follow-up psychiatric care
- Management of an outpatient psychiatric patient panel
- Coordination with primary care physicians and other medical providers
- Collaboration with therapists and clinical staff
- Potential psychiatric coverage of skilled nursing and assisted-living facilities
- Participation in the continued growth of our psychiatric service line
Qualifications
- Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license
- PMHNP board certification
- Minimum 3,600 hours of qualifying NP practice experience
- Psychiatric prescribing experience
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Ability to manage patients with a high degree of clinical independence
- Interest in becoming part of a growing, physician-led mental health practice
Experience in outpatient psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, or consultation psychiatry is especially desirable.
