About the Role
Texas Cemetery Brokers is seeking a self-motivated and compassionate professional with experience in the funeral or cemetery industry to join our network as an Independent Field Agent.
In this flexible, 1099 contractor role, you will be the face of our company in the Dallas or Houston area. You will balance your time between helping families secure their final arrangements, executing on-site property transfers, and building powerful referral relationships with local mortuaries. Key Responsibilities
- Family Consultations & Showings: Meet with interested families on-site at local cemeteries to show available plots, answer questions, and facilitate the sale of cemetery property.
- Property Transfers: Serve as our on-the-ground representative for cemetery property transfers. By appointment, you will drive to the cemetery, meet with the family, and accurately execute the transfer using paperwork we provide.
- Mortuary Outreach & B2B Development: Visit local mortuaries to deliver supplies, build rapport with funeral directors, and establish partnerships. Your goal is to sign them up to sell cemetery property with us or establish a steady pipeline of customer referrals.
Requirements
- Industry Experience: Demonstrated prior experience working in the funeral, mortuary, or cemetery industry is strictly required.
- Location & Mobility: Must reside in or immediately adjacent to the Dallas or Houston metro areas.
- Transportation: A valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and the ability to travel locally to various cemeteries and mortuaries on a regular basis.
- Professionalism & Empathy: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to conduct business respectfully and compassionately with grieving families.
- Autonomy: Strong time-management skills and the ability to operate effectively as an independent self-starter.
Compensation Structure
This is a 1099 independent contractor position with a highly lucrative, commission-based structure:
- Mortuary Partnerships: Commissions are variable based on partnership scale, with the opportunity to earn up to $10,000 per signed-up mortuary.
- Property Sales: Earn approximately $1,000 commission for every cemetery plot sold to a family.
- Transfer Appointments: Earn a flat $200 fee per completed transfer. (We will call you to schedule these appointments. A standard transfer typically takes around 2 hours, including your local drive time).
