The Branch Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operational performance of a Viking SupplyNet branch, including warehouse, distribution, customer service, inventory management, and in-branch fabrication operations. This role provides leadership for all branch personnel while ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable operations. The Branch Operations Manager is accountable for achieving operational, financial, quality, and customer service objectives by developing high-performing teams, maintaining compliance, and driving continuous improvement.

Lead the day-to-day operations of the branch, including warehouse, fabrication, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and customer service.

Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to supervisors and team members while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Ensure safe operations by maintaining compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and all applicable operating procedures.

Manage branch inventory accuracy, material flow, warehouse organization, and outbound/inbound shipments, including coordination with outside carriers.

Oversee fabrication operations to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery commitments are met.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers by ensuring exceptional service and timely resolution of issues or concerns.

Partner closely with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Regional Operations leadership to support business objectives and customer requirements.

Analyze operational performance and implement process improvements to increase productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.

Manage branch financial performance, including understanding and monitoring P&L results, budgets, capital expenditures, and operating expenses.

Develop and execute annual and multi-year branch business plans aligned with organizational goals.

Hire, train, develop, coach, and evaluate employees, including conducting performance reviews and supporting career development.

Ensure the branch consistently achieves satisfactory Safety, Quality, and Operational Audit results.

Maintain proficiency with warehouse management, inventory, shipping, fabrication, and business operating systems.

Support branch operations as needed, including operating forklifts, material handling equipment, warehouse equipment, and assisting in shipping, receiving, inventory, fabrication, or customer service activities.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and leadership experience.

Minimum of 2 years of leadership or management experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, industrial distribution, warehouse, or related operations environment.

Experience managing customer service, warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, and receiving.

Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L performance, and capital planning.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve operational performance, and drive employee engagement.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Forklift operation experience or ability to become certified.

Manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial distribution experience.

Experience leading fabrication or light manufacturing operations.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or operational excellence principles.

Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and inventory management software.

Combination of office, warehouse, and fabrication shop environments.

Regular exposure to manufacturing conditions including noise, dust, heat, moving equipment, and other industrial hazards.

Requires standing, walking, lifting materials, and operating warehouse equipment as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ideal candidates will have experience leading operations within an industrial distribution, manufacturing, fabrication, or warehouse environment where safety, customer service, operational excellence, and financial performance are critical to success. Experience overseeing both distribution and fabrication operations is highly desirable.
