Events Manager
Concord Academy — Memphis, TN
Full-Time, Exempt, Year-Round | Reports to the Executive Director
About Concord Academy
Concord Academy is a Memphis-based independent school serving students in grades 6–12 with learning differences. Since 1983, our mission has been to prepare students for lifelong success by meeting them where they are and empowering them to thrive. We are a close-knit community that values neurodiversity, equity, and inclusion, and we are looking for an Events Manager who shares our passion for creating experiences that bring our community together and advance our mission.
About the Role
The Events Manager plans and executes Concord Academy’s fundraising, donor, and community events — from our signature annual event to smaller donor and family gatherings. You’ll own the details that make an event run smoothly: logistics, vendors, volunteers, budgets, and promotion, all while helping tell Concord Academy’s story to donors and the broader community. This role reports directly to the Executive Director and is a great fit for an organized, creative, and personable events professional who wants their work to have a direct, visible impact on students.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and execute Concord Academy’s fundraising and community events from start to finish, including venue, vendor, and logistics coordination.
- Build and manage event budgets, and track event expenses and revenue.
- Recruit, train, and coordinate event volunteers and committee members.
- Lead event marketing and promotion — invitations, registration pages, social media, signage, and print materials.
- Track attendance, sponsorships, and gifts, and report on event results.
- Support donor and sponsor stewardship, including acknowledgment and recognition materials.
- Represent Concord Academy at community and networking events.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in event planning, hospitality, marketing, or nonprofit fundraising events.
- A track record of coordinating vendors, budgets, and volunteers for mid- to large-scale events.
- Excellent organizational skills and follow-through, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Comfort with Office 365, remote meeting platforms, and event or donor management software (GiveSmart, Bloomerang, or similar).
- A genuine commitment to Concord Academy’s mission and to working with a diverse community of students, families, and donors.
Concord Academy is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.
