American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Hospice Clinical position requiring 2 years of public health/hospice nursing experience and a SC or compact RN license.

home-based and hospice inpatient setting covering the Tri-County Area with specific zip code coverage TBD

Provides skilled nursing care to patients with terminal illnesses and complex, compromised health states

Weekend-only schedule typically structured as 13/13/14-hour shifts to complete a 40-hour work week

Schedule is dependent on patient appointment availability

Occasional on-call duties required during evenings and weekends based on department needs

Uses Cerner EMR for charting

Requires reliable personal transportation to travel to patient homes

Must not be a permanent resident of SC if holding a compact license

Current CPR certification (AHA)

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Minimum of 2 years professional nursing experience in public health, acute care, home care, or hospice inpatient setting

Hospice nursing experience desired

Valid driver's license with a good driving record required for home visits

Strong physical assessment, teaching, and organizational skills required

Ability to perform frequent physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and driving

Collaborate with patient families, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary group (IDG) to meet medical and emotional needs

Communicate with physicians regarding patient status changes and obtain orders as needed

Administer medications and manage end-of-life symptoms and needs

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
-
Supervise care provided by LPNs and Hospice Aides

Participate in interdisciplinary group meetings and quality improvement activities
-
Work under minimal daily supervision while performing independent field visits

Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, and other healthcare-related hazards is expected

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel assignment

Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital
-
Assignments may be extended up to one year from the initial start date, after which a 30-60 day break is required before returning
