Position Summary
The Music Minister at Jersey Baptist Church leads the congregation in Christ-centered worship that is biblically grounded, musically excellent, and spiritually uplifting. This role oversees all aspects of the church’s music ministry, cultivating an environment where people can encounter God through worship and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Primary Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
- Plan, prepare, and lead music for all worship services (contemporary and traditional).
- Select songs that align with the church’s theological convictions and worship style.
- Coordinate with the Senior Pastor to ensure worship services support the weekly message and church calendar.
Team Development
- Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers for the worship team, choir, musicians, and tech team.
- Schedule rehearsals and provide musical direction.
- Foster a culture of unity, humility, and spiritual growth among team members.
Music Ministry Administration
- Organize weekly rehearsals and prepare music resources (charts, tracks, planning tools).
- Oversee audio/visual needs in partnership with tech volunteers.
- Manage the music ministry budget responsibly.
Special Services & Events
- Plan and lead music for seasonal services (Easter, Christmas, etc.).
- Support weddings, funerals, and other church events as requested.
- Coordinate special programs such as cantatas, concerts, or community outreach events.

- Maintains healthy communication and collaboration with staff, volunteers, and the congregation.
Working Relationships
- Collaborates closely with the Senior Pastor and church staff.
- Leads and mentors worship volunteers.
- Engages with the congregation to support a vibrant worship culture.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in vocal leadership and at least one accompanying instrument (guitar or piano preferred).
- Strong understanding of worship theology and church music traditions.
- Ability to lead and develop volunteer teams with patience and encouragement.
- Experience with worship technology (sound systems, ProPresenter, livestream tools) is a plus.
- Organizational and administrative skills to manage schedules, rehearsals, and planning.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary Range: ($20,000 - $30,000) To be determined based on experience, education, and weekly time commitment.
