Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled EEG Technician to join our dedicated neurodiagnostic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electroencephalography, neurocritical care, and neurological diagnostics, with a passion for delivering precise testing and patient-centered care. As an EEG Tech, you will be responsible for performing specialized neurological assessments, operating advanced medical equipment, and supporting clinical teams in diagnostic evaluations.
Duties
- Conduct electroencephalography (EEG) procedures, including routine and specialized testing, ensuring accurate data collection for diagnostic purposes.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological responses throughout testing to ensure safety and optimal data quality.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment related to EEG and neurodiagnostic procedures, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Assist in the interpretation of diagnostic test results in collaboration with neurologists and other healthcare professionals.
- Support patients by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and maintaining effective communication during testing sessions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, patient information, and technical findings in compliance with hospital standards.
- Collaborate with clinical teams specializing in neurology, neurocritical care, emergency medicine, and trauma to support comprehensive diagnostic evaluations.
Requirements
- Certification or licensure as an EEG Technician or equivalent credential required; additional certifications in neurodiagnostics are preferred.
- Proven experience performing EEG procedures within Level I or Level II trauma centers; experience in emergency medicine or neurocritical care settings is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, neuroanatomy, medical terminology, and neurological diagnostics.
- Familiarity with medical equipment operation specific to electroencephalography and patient monitoring systems.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic test results accurately and communicate findings effectively to healthcare teams.
- Experience working within high-pressure environments such as trauma centers or emergency departments is advantageous.
- Excellent understanding of aseptic techniques, vital signs monitoring, and patient safety protocols.
