Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Duct Work Fabricator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and sheet metal components with precision and efficiency, ensuring the delivery of high-quality HVAC systems that meet our rigorous standards and client specifications.
Job Details:
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with potential for summer weekends and overtime as needed.
Location: Fabrication shop with installation work throughout all 5 boroughs.
Responsibilities:
Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to accurately fabricate ductwork and sheet metal components. Operate fabrication machinery including CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, press brakes, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and forming machines. Set up and operate welding equipment to join metal components securely according to safety standards. Measure and inspect fabricated parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments to ensure quality compliance. Assemble duct systems using hand tools, tooling, cranes, and other shop equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow all safety standards. Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.
Requirements:
Proven experience in metal fabrication, sheet metal work, or ductwork manufacturing at a senior level. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Proficiency operating CNC machinery — laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling, CNC lathe; CNC programming preferred. Skilled in MIG/TIG welding for duct assembly. Familiarity with forming machines, stamping presses, and press brakes. Comfortable using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) for quality control. Knowledge of safety standards for machining and manufacturing environments. Mechanical aptitude and shop math skills for precise fabrication. Clean, valid driver's license. Own set of fabrication tools. Forklift certification preferred but not mandatory. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Professional, clean, and neat appearance. Positive attitude, punctuality, and respect toward customers, colleagues, and company policies.
