Overview
We have an immediate position for a Project Engineer to support the successful planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects by assisting project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients throughout all phases of construction. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate project documentation, coordinating project communications, tracking schedules and costs, and performing detailed data entry to ensure all project information is current, organized, and readily accessible.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects.
- Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and owners to facilitate project progress.
- Prepare and track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and project correspondence.
- Monitor project schedules and assist in identifying potential delays or scheduling conflicts.
- Support project budgeting by tracking costs, invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments.
- Attend project meetings, document meeting minutes, and distribute action items to project team members.
- Assist with project closeout documentation, warranties, as-built drawings, and final project records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Detailed Data Entry & Documentation Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely data entry into construction management software, project tracking systems, and company databases.
- Maintain detailed electronic records of RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily reports, inspections, permits, and project correspondence.
- Enter and update project budgets, cost codes, commitments, purchase orders, invoices, and financial reports.
- Track material deliveries, equipment usage, labor hours, and subcontractor performance.
- Maintain organized digital filing systems to ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and easily retrievable.
- Verify data accuracy before submitting reports to project managers, accounting personnel, clients, and stakeholders.
- Generate project status reports, cost summaries, and document logs for management review.
- Support document control by ensuring all project records are current and distributed to appropriate team members.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience in commercial construction or project engineering.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using construction management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), CMiC, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Professional references preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with both PC and Apple computer systems.
- Experience maintaining project databases and electronic document control systems.
- Knowledge of construction cost tracking, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Strong analytical and time management skills.

Pay: $63,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
