People often ask us about the secret to our success. It’s no secret. You see it at the restaurant every day. We all love what we do.
It’s been that way since Drago and Klara Cvitanovich opened our restaurant in 1969. They set out to offer delicious seafood and a good time to guests for a reasonable price. At that time, they couldn’t even imagine how many guests that would become.
Today it’s still a family atmosphere. Klara is still at the front to greet our guests. Tommy Cvitanovich, Drago and Klara’s son, is there to see that things run smoothly.
Our family has grown a lot since the early days—and our work family too. It would be impossible to do what we do without our very hard-working and loyal staff. Drago’s now has more than 400 employees who help us carry our legacy forward. And we all have a great time doing it!
Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Team Member - Service/Cashier and become a vital part of delivering exceptional customer experiences in a fast-paced food service environment. In this role, you will be the friendly face that greets customers, manages transactions efficiently, and ensures the cleanliness and organization of the workspace. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel valued and satisfied. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food handling, customer service, and retail operations while working in a lively, team-oriented setting.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, friendly service to enhance their dining experience
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process food sales, retail transactions, and cash handling accurately
- Manage customer orders efficiently, including taking orders, upselling menu items, and ensuring food is prepared correctly
- Maintain cleanliness of the workspace, including food preparation areas, dining spaces, and kitchen equipment
- Handle cash register operations with precision, processing cash transactions and balancing registers at shift end
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, following food safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Support food safety management by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation practices
- Restock supplies, buss tables, and ensure a tidy environment for both customers and staff
Qualifications
- Previous experience in quick service or fast food restaurants is highly preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Experience in food handling, sanitation, or food safety management is a plus
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Retail sales experience or grocery store background is beneficial but not required
- Food industry knowledge including serving, bussing, and food preparation practices
