Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Function Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a proactive individual who is passionate about dentistry and eager to support both the dental team and our patients. We are looking for a part time position to transition into a full time position.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage patient records using dental software systems, including Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients before procedures.
- Provide chairside assistance in various dental specialties, including General Dentistry, Prosthodontics, and Pediatrics.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Operate 3D scanners for imaging as needed during procedures.
- Restore fillings and adjust dentures.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and knowledge of dental terminology.
- Experience with medical imaging technologies, including X-ray capabilities.
- Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessments accurately.
- Strong understanding of various dental specialties such as General Dentistry, Prosthodontics, and Pediatrics.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A compassionate demeanor towards patients, ensuring a comfortable experience during their visits.
