Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while assisting patients with their eyewear needs. This position requires a strong understanding of optical products, retail management, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Optician will work closely with both patients and healthcare professionals to ensure that all optical prescriptions are accurately filled and that patients receive the highest level of care. Experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train the right candidate who is motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. This position will require you to work in both our Nashua and Milford, Nh offices.
Duties
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and personal preferences.
- Perform fittings for eyeglasses ensuring proper measurements and adjustments.
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage.
- Maintain an organized display of optical products, ensuring that all items are well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Process sales transactions accurately while utilizing retail math skills for inventory management.
- Collaborate with optometrists to understand patient needs and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in optical technology and products to provide informed recommendations to customers.
- Manage patient records with attention to detail, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to medical terminology standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in an optical setting or retail environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy as it pertains to the eye, along with medical terminology relevant to optometry.
- Strong sales skills with a proven track record in retail management or customer service roles.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus but not required.
