Position Summary
The Freezer Picker/Driver is responsible for accurately selecting, moving, and transporting products within a multi-temperature distribution center environment (−10° to 40°F). This position combines freezer picking duties with safe forklift operation to ensure efficient movement of products while maintaining compliance with safety and food quality standards.
Working Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-3:00am, OT up to 7 days a week as needed
Pay: $24.00/HR + $1.00/HR shift diff = $25.00/HR
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts (including double reach trucks) and other lift equipment in cold storage environments.
- Use RF scanners to accurately pick products, pulling the correct SKUs and quantities.
- Palletize and stage products for outbound shipments, using forklifts or hand-jacks as needed.
- Load and unload pallets from inbound and outbound trailers.
- Transfer, retrieve, put away, and deliver materials within the warehouse.
- Meet or exceed department production and accuracy standards.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, safety, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) guidelines.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
- Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 6 months’ forklift experience (double reach forklift experience strongly preferred).
- Prior experience in a distribution center or cold storage environment desirable.
- Previous use of RF scanning equipment required.
Requirements
- Ability to work in cold storage (−10° to 40°F) for an entire shift.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently, walk/stand 8–12 hours, and climb stairs.
- Comfortable working at heights when required.
- Must meet equipment safety requirements (e.g., under 400 lbs., under 6’4”).
- Must pass pre-employment screening and complete all required safety and forklift training.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime during peak periods.
