We are looking for a Preschool Teacher who will fit into our team! We are looking for an individual who likes to take initiative and is capable of running their own classroom of 12 children with a co-lead teacher in a play-based learning environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work with their co-lead to build curriculum and teach with one another and work with a team with the rest of the staff. We want a teacher who is energetic with our outdoor program and is able to work with children of all ages of 2-5 years and just have fun while teaching and making a difference.
We are located near UCSF Parnassus and Golden Gate Park. We take daily excursions to Golden Gate Park and use our Inner Sunset community to its fullest. The bulk of our program is outdoors with daily walks and hands on activities into GGP (Botanical and Japanese Tea Garden, Rose Garden, JFK Promenade, Koret Playground, Stow Lake, Music Concourse, Mother's Meadow, etc.). Because we are an active part of the Inner Sunset, we also teach the young children about the community around us and instill in them a sense of community among each other in the school. Responsibilities
-Lead small and large group activities
-Develop emergent curriculum and theme-based curriculum with a co-teacher
-Model good behavior for the children and other staff members
-Mentor our teacher aides
-Ability to assess the children's development
-Able to lead teacher-parent conferences
-Be a team player!
Requirements
- Minimum 12 ECE Core units (Child Development Course, ECE Curriculum Course, and a Family, Child, and Community Course)
-B.A. Degree and CTC Child Development Teacher Permit preferred
- Minimum two years experience working with children in a preschool setting
- CPR/First Aid Certified
- Able to lift up to 50 pound
-Vaccinated and Boosted against COVID-19
