Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Support children during daily routines such as meal times, nap times, diapering, and outdoor play
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment by following health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and child care standards
- Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones to inform teaching strategies
- Engage with children through play, storytelling, arts and crafts, and educational activities that stimulate growth and curiosity
- Foster positive behavior management techniques to encourage cooperation and social skills among children
- Collaborate with team members to plan classroom activities that meet individual needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements
Skills
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, nannying or babysitting roles
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations using pediatric first aid skills
- Strong communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
- Compassionate caregiving approach with patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with children
