Overview
The Central Supply Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of medical supply management and sterilization processes. This energetic position involves coordinating the procurement, sterilization, and distribution of medical instruments and supplies, while maintaining strict adherence to infection prevention standards. Duties
- Manage inventory levels of sterile processing supplies and medical equipment, ensuring optimal stock availability.
- Oversee the assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical devices using aseptic techniques.
- Coordinate endoscope reprocessing and other specialized sterilization procedures in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, inventory logs, and decontamination processes to ensure traceability.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate timely delivery of sterile supplies and ensure proper handling of sensitive equipment.
- Implement infection control protocols related to sterile processing and monitor compliance across departments.
- Conduct routine audits of sterilization procedures, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sterile processing, including assembly, packaging, and sterilization of medical instruments.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures.
- Familiarity with infection prevention management and healthcare infection control practices.
- Expertise in inventory management systems and medical equipment operation.
- Ability to follow aseptic techniques meticulously during decontamination and sterilization processes.
- Knowledge of endoscope reprocessing procedures and surgical instrument handling.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; able to maintain accurate documentation.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
