American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a GA or compact license and 1 year of OR experience.

Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
-
Small unit handling Ortho, Spine, General, Eyes, and Plastics cases
-
Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
-
Patient ratio of 1:1
-
Call requirements include one weekday and two 24-hour weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Floating required within facility scope of practice and to Piedmont Macon Medical Center if needed
-
Epic charting system preferred
-
Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
-
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
-
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room experience required
-
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
-
Skilled in general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, and thyroidectomy
-
Skilled in orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy, fracture reduction, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, and total joint replacement
-
Skilled in urology procedures including cystoscopy, laparoscopic cases, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP
-
Skilled in thoracic procedures including lobe resection and thoracotomy
-
Proficient in administration of blood and blood products, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, Universal Protocol time-out procedures, and wound management
-
Experience with cell saver equipment
-
Knowledge of emergency management, fire safety, and latex allergy protocols

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Locals accepted at the same bill rate

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
-
Holiday coverage required based on assignment period, with expectations to work 1-2 holidays if they fall during the assignment, or 2 of 3 holidays if three occur during the assignment

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Manager requires flexible candidates to meet scheduling needs of the unit

Previous Perm/Per Diem/FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for 1 full year before applying as a traveler

Returning travelers who canceled or received a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
