Overview
Total Tennis Academy is looking for enthusiastic and dependable Part-Time Tennis Instructors to teach Parks & Recreation tennis classes for youth and adults. We partner with local park agencies to provide fun, high-quality tennis programs in a supportive outdoor environment.
TTA is expanding, and we are looking to grow our instructor team to help fill new classes as our programs continue to grow.
This role is ideal for individuals who love tennis, enjoy teaching, and want to make a positive impact in the community. It’s also a great fit for retired individuals seeking a few hours a week, college students needing flexible work, or anyone who enjoys staying active while helping others learn the game.
Duties
- Teach Parks & Recreation tennis classes for youth and adults using TTA’s class structure and lesson plans
- Create a fun, engaging, and safe learning environment
- Teach proper technique, footwork, rally skills, scoring, and sportsmanship
- Manage class flow and group dynamics
- Communicate with parents and participants as needed
- Set up and break down courts, organize equipment, and maintain a clean, safe court area
- Represent Total Tennis Academy professionally during all park-run classes
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with children (instruction, coaching, teaching, camps, or recreation)
- Tennis playing or teaching background preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
- Strong communication skills with a positive and professional attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to lead classes of 2–8 participants
- Ability to adapt instruction for different ages, abilities, and learning styles
- Bonus: Experience in other sports, recreation programs, or customer service roles
