JOB SUMMARY
To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a middle school learning
environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential
through arts integration.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree required
LICENSE: Must hold a valid Indiana State Teacher's License in Elementary and/or Middle School
Education (K-8). Must be deemed Highly Qualified in accordance with the Indiana Department of
Education
EXPERIENCE: Required experience includes:
- Must have excellent organization and communication skills while being flexible
- Possess no excuses philosophy
- Exceptional management skills
- Must be able to adapt material to meet needs of diverse learners
- Work cooperatively and effectively with other professional staff
- Must have a working knowledge of balanced literacy, state standards, general education
curriculum, and IPS curriculum/instruction framework.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate a high level of effectiveness.
- Collaborate with staff members.
- Prepare rigorous, engaging lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual
needs of all students including arts integration.
- Demonstrate use of scientifically-based research best practice instructional strategies.
- Post assignments and input real-time data on Google Classroom.
- Use a variety of instructional methods and materials.
- Administer and analyze assessment data to inform instructional decisions that promotes
student growth.
- Encourage parent involvement in the educational process.
- Resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Participate in all staff and curriculum development workshops and arts performances that
are sometimes held during the summer and/or outside of the regular instructional day.
- Provides a positive, calm and supportive classroom environment which fosters social and
emotional growth of all students.
