Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious <USDRIVERLICENSE> traffic control dump truck driver to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport materials across construction sites, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate dump trucks and other heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, water trucks, and water trucks to move materials around construction sites.
- Follow all federal construction safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and team members.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on dump trucks and related machinery, including inspecting fluid levels, brakes, tires, and mechanical components to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with traffic control duties by setting up signage, barriers, and flagging to direct vehicle movement around active work zones.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and other equipment operators for efficient material delivery and site logistics.
- Utilize utility locating techniques to identify underground utilities before excavation or material placement activities.
- Maintain accurate logs of daily operations, equipment usage, and safety inspections to support project documentation.
Requirements
- Valid <USDRIVERLICENSE> with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial trucks is essential.
- Proven experience in construction machinery operation including dump trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, water trucks, horizontal drilling equipment, tankers, and paving machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and OSHA standards to promote a safe work environment.
- Strong understanding of construction site operations and experience working in active construction zones.
- Ability to operate additional machinery such as backhoes, caterpillar equipment, graders, water trucks, horizontal drills, tankers, dozers, loaders, excavators or paving machines is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and traffic control personnel.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy materials and operating machinery for extended periods.
