TTS Engineering is a Southern California civil engineering contractor with approximately 100 employees and roughly $30 million in annual revenue. This role supports a workforce that includes both office and field employees and requires an HR professional who is practical, organized, and comfortable working across multiple functions.
TTS Engineering is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, employee relations, and workers' compensation administration. This is a broad, non-manager role for someone who can keep HR processes moving, respond well to day-to-day employee needs, and help leadership maintain a consistent, compliant, people-focused operation.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for office and field positions, including posting jobs, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, preparing offers, and supporting new hire follow-through.
- Lead onboarding and orientation activities so new employees have a smooth, consistent start and understand company expectations.
- Support employee engagement, retention, and communication initiatives that strengthen morale and improve the employee experience.
- Serve as a day-to-day HR contact for employees and supervisors on policies, procedures, attendance issues, and general HR questions.
- Coordinate workers' compensation reporting, documentation, claim follow-up, and return-to-work or modified duty tracking.
- Maintain organized and confidential employee files, HRIS records, and other employment documentation.
- Assist with employee relations matters, coaching documentation, corrective action paperwork, and performance-related follow-up.
- Support benefits administration, leave tracking, and other recurring HR processes as assigned.
- Help the company stay aligned with applicable federal, California, and local employment requirements.
- Track basic HR metrics such as open roles, hiring status, turnover, onboarding progress, and workers' compensation case status.
- 3-5 years of human resources experience in a generalist-style role.
- Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration.
- Experience coordinating workers' compensation claims and return-to-work activity.
- Strong organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Construction, contracting, field services, manufacturing, logistics, or other blue-collar workforce experience is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of California employment practices
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
