Overview
In this position, you will diagnose, repair, and service a wide range of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety for our valued customers. This shop is a family owned "mom and pop" shop on the northeast side of San Antonio. This shop is open Monday thru Friday, 8-5. The shop is closed on weekends. Every year during Christmas time, the shop will be closed for 1 week to give employees time with their families at the most important time of the year! Old fashioned, and been running 35 years strong, with a good reputation. This means you will have plenty of work!
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on mechanical systems including engines, A/C systems, suspension, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain components.
- Execute routine maintenance such as fluid exchanges and tire rotations.
- Repair and replace automotive parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive service techniques.
- Work on most vehicle manufacturers
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in dealership or independent shop environments. (Not your driveway with your dad for years)
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics software and schematics for efficient troubleshooting. (GM MDI, FORD IDS, etc.) As well as being able to PROVE that your diagnostic is correct before selling wrong repair.
- Hands-on experience repairing engines (external repair mostly), suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools.
- Must already have your own tools. Shop can provide basic necessities. (Scan tool, fluid exchange machines, A/C machines, etc.)
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Maintain HONESTY and TRANSPARENCY
- Valid certifications or licenses related to automotive repair are preferred; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current with industry advancements.
Pay: $15.00 - $35.00 per hour
