Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Bookkeeper to join our finance team! Duties
- Process payroll using industry-standard software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, UltiPro or Tyler ERP Pro (a plus), ensuring timely and accurate payments for all employees and contractors
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to payroll, benefits administration, and other financial transactions
- Perform data entry for payroll records, employee benefits, tax filings, and journal entries with precision and attention to detail
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions related to payroll expenses and vendor payments
- Conduct account reconciliations, including double entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation, to ensure financial accuracy
- Assist with benefits administration tasks such as enrollment updates, leave tracking, and compliance documentation
- Support governmental accounting requirements by preparing reports related to tax filings and other regulatory submissions
Qualifications
- Proven experience with payroll management using systems like Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos or Ceridian. Tyler ERP Pro would be a plus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Tyler ERP Pro, QuickBooks or similar platforms
- Familiarity with corporate accounting principles including debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
- Understanding of HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and time-tracking systems like Kronos, UltiPro orTyler ERP Pro
- Knowledge of non-profit or governmental accounting practices is a plus
- Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and financial data review
- Proficiency in 10 key typing and double entry bookkeeping techniques
- Ability to perform detailed data entry accurately in fast-paced environments
- Strong understanding of tax regulations related to payroll and benefits administration
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with HR teams and external vendors
