Duties
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and offering product recommendations or demos
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and maintaining attractive displays to enhance store presentation
- Conduct product demos when appropriate to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Handle cash drawer operations with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers, and managing cash register operations
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or assisting via phone communication
- Support merchandising efforts by ensuring products are well-stocked, properly labeled, and visually appealing
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred; familiarity with retail math and cash register operations is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse customers
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities in a retail setting is advantageous
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills necessary for accurate transactions
- Ability to perform cashiering duties efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Experience with product demos, upselling techniques, and merchandising strategies enhances success in this role
- Good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to engage confidently with customers and team members
