Step into a fulfilling role supporting K-12 students as a school-based nurse in a contract, full-time position. This floater nursing opportunity runs from August 17, 2026, through June 18, 2027, offering consistent, weekday hours from 8 AM to 4 PM. You’ll be providing essential health services across several campuses (all within a 6-mile radius), so reliable transportation and comfort commuting locally are key.
Your adaptability and clinical expertise will directly support a healthy and safe learning environment across multiple grade levels. Both RN and LPN candidates are eligible and will enjoy the chance to make a lasting difference in various school communities.
What you bring:
- Active Massachusetts RN or LPN license (required)
- Proven experience working in school settings with K-12 students
- Flexibility to cover different campuses as needed
- Reliable personal transportation for travel between school sites
- Ability to work on-site only, 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday
- Successful completion of fingerprinting and CORI background check
- Commitment to the entire contract period without schedule accommodations
- Confidence working independently and collaboratively with school staff
What you'll do:
- Deliver skilled nursing care and health services to students and staff
- Serve as a campus floater, providing coverage and support as assigned
- Promote health and wellness through daily care, health assessments, and education
- Address student health concerns, medication administration, and emergency response
- Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality standards at all times
