Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist specializing in both milling and turning operations on second shift and weekend shifts. In this dynamic role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC machines—including mills and lathes—to produce precision metal parts. Your expertise will ensure high-quality output while adhering to strict specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines and lathes, including CNC programming using Fanuc controls and G-code for precision machining.
- Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces, ensuring optimal performance for each job.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce parts that meet exact specifications.
- Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators for quality control inspections.
- Perform machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to maintain efficiency and quality standards.
- Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure parts meet design intent.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, measurements, and inspection results for quality assurance.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and lathes with a strong understanding of CNC programming (Fanuc preferred).
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus.
- Skilled in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other CAD programs for tooling design and setup planning.
- Familiarity with manual machining techniques, including the use of hand tools and grinders.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurement calculations and machine setup adjustments.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in production processes.
