Host / Hostess
Dumpling U is a growing Chinese restaurant specializing in xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) and other Chinese dishes. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Host / Hostess to join our front-of-house team.
Job Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome guests as they arrive
- Manage the waitlist and provide accurate estimated wait times
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Answer basic questions about the menu and restaurant
- Communicate with servers and kitchen staff to maintain smooth service
- Help keep the entrance, host stand, and dining area clean and organized
- Assist servers and other front-of-house team members when needed
- Answer phone calls and assist with basic customer inquiries
- Provide friendly and professional service to every guest
- Follow restaurant policies and service standards
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or customer service experience is preferred, but not required
- Friendly, positive, and welcoming personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Team player with a willingness to help others
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
