Overview
The 2nd Shift Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound freight operations, managing load assignments, dispatching trailer movements, and maintaining accurate shipment records. This position works Thursday through Saturday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM. Starting pay is $19.00/hour.
Job Duties:
Assign inbound/outbound loads to LTOs.
Create daily gameplan in coordination with supervision.
Dispatch trailer movements to spot truck driver and OTR drivers as needed.
Record times and activity for each LTO on shift; keep supervision informed of any productivity issues.
Maintain accuracy of the whiteboard showing trailer locations at the dock.
EWM System Responsibilities:
Assign trailers to loads in DSQ.
Create waves and release waves in the system.
Check trailers in and out systematically.
Input seal numbers to trailers in the system.
Place seal and packing list in trailers before trailer is pulled.
Compare yard check to system records; reconcile discrepancies as needed.
Add or cut product as requested by the Customer.
Receive and depart trailers in the system.
Job Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse/shipping environment.
Basic computer skills; ability to learn and operate EWM and related software systems.
Effective communication skills to work with LTOs, drivers, and supervision.
Must be available to work Thursday through Saturday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM.
Training Requirements:
Must complete all required safety training.
Must watch all required safety videos covering warehouse rules and regulations.
Must complete hands-on training in EWM system functions (DSQ, wave management, trailer check-in/out, yard reconciliation).
Must demonstrate proficiency in all shipping clerk duties to qualify for pay increase.
Pay: $19.00 per hour
