Summary of the Machine Repair Technician :
Our client is seeking experienced Industrial Machine Repair Technicians to support one of Michigan's largest automotive manufacturing facilities. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial production equipment to maximize uptime and support continuous manufacturing operations. Responsibilities of the Machine Repair Technician :
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production equipment
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and CNC machine systems
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance
- Read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical blueprints
- Repair ball screws, spindles, bearings, lubrication systems, and mechanical components
- Perform piping, tubing, steam fitting, fixture repair, and mechanical rebuilds
- Operate tool room equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, and saws
- Perform rigging using chains, slings, chokers, and overhead cranes
- Support equipment installations, machine moves, and production line modifications
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime
Minimum Requirements of the Machine Repair Technician :
- Journeyman Machine Repair Card, Department of Labor Certified Program, or equivalent industrial machine repair experience
- Minimum 4 years of industrial machine repair experience (6+ years preferred)
- Strong experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- CNC machine repair experience, including ball screws, spindles, bearings, and mechanical components
- Ability to read hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical prints
- Experience with assembly lines, machining centers, CNC equipment, stamping presses, or other industrial manufacturing equipment
- Experience with rigging, tool room equipment, welding/torch work, and mechanical fabrication is preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex industrial equipment
- Ability to work overtime and any assigned shift in a UAW manufacturing environment
