Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Cashier/Sales professional to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and supporting the store’s sales and operations. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Greet customers and assist with purchases, including operating a cash register and handling cash, credit card, and mobile payments.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking shelves and tidying up displays.
- Utilize effective sales techniques to upsell and promote products to customers.
- Provide detailed product knowledge and recommendations to customers.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities, including making change, counting cash, and balancing the cash register at the end of the shift.
- Process returns, exchanges, and refunds efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of sales and customer interactions.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales targets and maintain store appearance.
- Participate in inventory management and merchandising activities as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management, such as assisting with store displays or participating in promotional events.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a retail or grocery store environment preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Proficiency with cash register systems and point-of-sale technology. POS Register
- Strong sales skills, with the ability to promote products and meet sales targets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
