Warehouse Manager – Gambinos Bakery
Location: Metairie / New Orleans, LA area

Gambinos Bakery is a family-owned New Orleans bakery known for our king cakes, doberge cakes, and classic Louisiana baked goods. We’re looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to own day-to-day warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and the smooth flow of ingredients and finished goods that keep our retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels running.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of ingredients, packaging, and finished products using our digital inventory / food & item management system
- Ensure the warehouse stays organized, clean, and compliant with food-safety and sanitation standards
- Supervise and develop warehouse team members; set clear expectations and hold the team accountable
- Coordinate closely with production, e-commerce, and wholesale teams to prioritize and fulfill orders on time
- Operate and oversee forklift and other material-handling equipment safely
- Drive continuous improvement in warehouse efficiency, space utilization, and inventory accuracy
- Maintain equipment, manage cycle counts, and help reduce shrink / waste
Requirements
- Forklift certified (required)
- Proven experience managing a warehouse or distribution center, preferably in food, bakery, or CPG
- Hands-on experience with digital inventory / warehouse management systems (food & item tracking systems strongly preferred)
- Strong leadership and communication skills — able to manage and motivate a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, seasonal environment (especially during Mardi Gras / king cake season)
- Solid understanding of food safety, FIFO, and warehouse best practices
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to lift 50+ lbs as needed
- Available to work early mornings and occasional weekends during peak periods
