Duties
- Assist an individual with activities of daily living (ADLs) including meal preparation
- Support a client with Prader-Willi Syndrome by adhering to her food program and food security.
- Operate a standard passenger car safely to provide transportation for appointments, errands, or community outings
- Use effective communication skills to engage with the client, her family, and other program team members
- Collect data on client progress and document observations accurately for ongoing support planning
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and ensure proper documentation of medication administration
- Facilitate social activities and community participation to enhance social skills and independence
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and client communication strategies
- Ability to operate a vehicle safely for personal transportation assistance or client outings
- Background in home and community care services, caregiving, or social services environments
- First aid and CPR certification to ensure safety during emergencies
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective client communication and relationship building
- Experience with data collection, medication administration, and supporting clients with cognitive disabilities or intellectual disabilities support
