The opportunity
FOCUS Training helps organizations build strong leadership pipelines, keeping great people engaged, growing careers, and making teams more successful. Our programs are genuinely interactive, designed to boost leaders' confidence and competence and make space for real conversation. Learners remember our sessions and partners come back for more.
We are building out our Professional Market sales team and looking for a Client Development Manager to help lead that growth.
You will inherit a warm book of business: established relationships with clients who already know us and value the work we do. Your job from day one is to maintain and grow existing relationships while developing new ones. We have strong options identified for expanding into an established market niche, and we want the right person closely involved in shaping exactly what that looks like. There is a plan and you will help build it.
If you are energized by deep client relationships and excited to build something new at the same time, this role was designed for you.
What you will do
- Own the existing Professional Market book of business: serve as the primary relationship holder for active clients, maintain consistent touchpoints, and identify opportunities to deepen and expand those partnerships
- Develop proposals and contracts for client programs and manage the full sales cycle from discovery through signed agreement
- Build new client relationships in a defined market niche, shaped collaboratively based on your background, network, and perspective
- Keep a clean HubSpot pipeline so we always know where we stand and can plan together
- Represent FOCUS Training at conferences and industry events as our primary Professional Market presence
What we are looking for
Must-haves:
- 3 or more years of B2B sales experience in a services environment, with real responsibility for client relationships and revenue
- Comfort operating with high autonomy in a small business: you create your own results, manage your own priorities, and contribute beyond a narrow job description
- Baseline proficiency with HubSpot, Canva, and Google Workspace
- Strong written and verbal communication: you represent us well in client conversations, conference rooms, and exhibit halls.
- Proven results in prior sales roles
Nice to haves:
- Background in professional services, training and development, consulting, HR services, or a closely adjacent field
- Experience stepping into an existing portfolio of client relationships while having the opportunity to build new ones
Why this role
- A warm book of business to inherit. A portion of your time will be growing existing business and another portion prospecting in a market niche.
- Transparent compensation with real upside as the market grows: base salary $65,000 to $72,000, plus a performance structure with significant upside potential
- Hybrid flexibility
- Unlimited PTO
- Health, vision, and dental coverage; Simple IRA with 2% employer match
- A small, close-knit team that works hard, learns fast, and enjoys the work
