Job description:
Lead Behavioral Health Technician
Beachside Rehab is an innovative private mental health and substance abuse treatment facility. We are looking to hire a full-time Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
Job Duties:
- De-escalate ATA and other client problems.
- Remind clients of program rules and regulations as necessary and report infractions appropriately.
- Provide emotional support for clients while referring them to therapy staff to deal with clinical issues.
- In absence of BHT Supervisor, directs all BHT Staff.
- Provides coaching on an ongoing basis to help team members improve their skills and knowledge.
- Participate in shift turnover and oversee that the next shift has a BHT on duty.
- Participate in all staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
- Oversee that BHT Staff have clients maintain the cleanliness of group and recreation areas.
- Schedule and oversee the search of client’s belongings for contraband.
- Complete all assigned paperwork in a neat, accurate and timely manner.
- Complete incident reports according to policy in a timely, accurate manner.
- Interact appropriately with clients, showing them respect while maintaining boundaries.
- Maintain professional demeanor at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality pertaining to clients and families per HIPAA regulations.
- Exercise sound professional judgment and seek assistance as necessary to effectively manage client behavior.
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in behavioral health or detox environment as a BHT.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- RBHT certification preferred.
