Guest Experience Specialist – Host/Takeout Specialist

The Host/Takeout Guest Experience Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding Guest service at JINYA. This involves engaging with Guests, describing food and beverage options, accurately taking orders, promptly delivering meals, and processing payments efficiently. This position is vital to creating the exceptional experience that JINYA is known for. The Host/Takeout specialist significantly contributes to JINYA's success by offering genuine hospitality aimed at surprising and delighting our Guests, supporting Team Members, while promoting revenue growth.

- Surprise and delight our Guests! Create an energetic and comfortable atmosphere for Guests to relax and enjoy the company of friends and family and feel a sense of community, even if dining alone.
- Offers a sincere welcome to every Guest upon arrival, thanks Guests as they depart, soliciting feedback about the quality of service and welcomes each Guest to return.
- Educates our Guests of our offerings including Chef Specials and/or promotions, answering questions and making suggestions when appropriate.
- Uses up-selling techniques with every Guest to enhance the experience.
- Addresses Guest concerns and informs Manager to ensure a positive resolve.
- Promotes excellence, cooperation and teamwork within the company.
- Supports and assists Team Members.
- Arrives to work on time as scheduled in full uniform.
- Sets-up, maintains and operates expo areas, including all supplies and condiments, takeout and delivery orders, and the Host area.
- Follows steps of service.
- Answers phones in a welcoming manner, responding to inquiries with enthusiasm, assisting Guests as needed.
- Adheres to standardized portion sizes, quality standards and department rules and procedures.
- Takes drink and food orders and accurately inputs into register system.
- Bags and manages takeout orders, checking each order for accuracy.
- Ensures the correct drinks and food ordered are delivered to the Guest or delivery driver.
- Collects payment and makes correct change or processes credit card transactions.
- Sincerely thanks Guests as they leave and solicits feedback about quality of service and asks them to return.
- Practices safe food handling and cleanliness standards always.
- Sweeps, wet mops and/or brushes floors, as needed or directed by manager. Posts wet floor sign to mopped floors.
- Maintains restrooms executing restroom checks every 15 minutes per the standard and signs the checklist after checks.
- Busses tables and ensures marketing materials, menus, plateware and condiments are positioned appropriately.
- Ensures PCI credit card compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Minimum one year of experience in a Host/Takeout position within the restaurant business preferred.
- Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 4 hours in length.
