Overview
This temporary (proposed two year) position will develop relationships with church and community organizations to build community, embed Hope UMC deeply into the local community, and help current congregational ministries to adapt and thrive in a changing world. This person will also be tasked with helping to build depth in leadership and volunteer roles through congregational engagement and training with the ultimate goal of helping to bring the community into the church congregation through connections with organizations, groups, and individuals in the community.
Duties
- Leverage website and social media to engage with community and congregation
- Find, coordinate, make opportunities to connect with local schools, hospitals
- Work with leadership team to develop and implement outreach
- Connect congregation and community members to volunteer opportunities that match their strengths and skillset
- Oversee food pantry volunteers
- Create and maintain partnerships with local organizations
- Connect volunteers from church to local agencies
- Develop intentional strategies to reach community through outreach and evangelism
- Assist congregation members with leading, planning, and implementing local outreach events
- Assist with the planning and coordination of community projects with other local churches and ministries

Pay: $28,000.00 - $33,000.00 per year
