Job Description
Summary:
The Service Porter supports the service department by greeting customers, moving and parking vehicles, and ensuring the dealership’s service area is clean, organized, and efficient. This role helps create a positive customer experience while maintaining smooth service drive operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet all customers entering the service area with a friendly, professional attitude; answer questions and direct them to the appropriate person or location.

Determine if customers have service appointments and record customer name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and note any existing vehicle damage (walk-around).

Move and park vehicles on dealership premises to maintain a smooth traffic flow.

Drive vehicles to and from the service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed.

Keep the lot, driveways, and sidewalks clean, organized, and presentable.

Provide excellent customer service and direct guests to the correct personnel.

Retrieve customer vehicles at cashier for pick-up, deliver vehicle, and thank customers.

Install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and ID tags in all vehicles.

Assist the service department as needed, such as replenishing fluids or minor vehicle assistance.

Follow all company safety policies and report any accidents immediately to a manager or supervisor.
Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles (or willingness to learn if required).

Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions.

Must be authorized to work in the USA

Must be willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: Drug testing, background check, MVR.
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience as a porter, valet, or in a similar automotive or customer service role.

Familiarity with dealership operations or service drive processes.
