Job description:
VPG Management is seeking an experienced, agile, trustworthy maintenance/repair technician with HVAC expertise to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will perform general repairs to multi-family properties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs general plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs to the facility's equipment and systems.
- Inspects equipment and systems to identify problems or issues.
- Consult blueprints or building plans to identify the best solution for systems or equipment issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems operate correctly.
- Performs general cleaning tasks in the facility.
- Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Response to tenant reports of maintenance issues on their premises.
- Performs fixes such as repairing broken locks, filing gaps on walls, sheetrock, property interior and exterior, etc.
- Install appliances and equipment.
- Reports to Property Manager for issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair.
- Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to take apart machines to replace defective parts.
- Ability to prioritize workloads critical to operation.
- Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) standards.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have own vehicle to travel between properties.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in property management preferred.
- HVAC Certification required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to lift fifty pounds at a time.
