Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in surgery with strong dental and S/N, with a passion for providing exceptional veterinary services. Typically this would be 2 shifts per week - typically on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Able to act in the lead role administering anesthesia
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal vital signs and provide critical care when necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide education to pet owners regarding animal husbandry, care, and wellness.
- Input medical records into program
- Support operations, including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment for animals.
Requirements
- Previous veterinary technician experience is mandatory in a high volume spay neuter clinic; certification or licensure is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices.
- Experience with animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and handling various species including equine. Fear Free preferred
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary diagnostics.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate pet owners on care practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating compassion for animals.
