Job description:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe machinist for 3rd shift to set up and operate horizontal CNC lathes to produce quality parts according to blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with machine setups, inspections, precision measurement tools, and working knowledge of G-code and M-code. Experience with Fanuc controls are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate horizontal CNC lathes
- Load and unload raw material and finished parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Perform machine setups, including tooling changes, offsets, and basic program adjustments
- Read and understand basic G&M code
- Monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments during productions
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet specifications
- Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Deburr and clean machined parts
- Identify and report quality issues, machine problems, or non-conforming parts
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:
- Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company’s goals.
- Lifting guidelines in accordance with the Manual Lifting Guidelines noted in the Safety Handbook.
- Follow all environmental requirements consistently with supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.
- Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements.
Position & Physical Conditions:
- at least 18 years of age
- a US citizen or Green Card holder
- able to read, write, speak and understand English at a high school level.
- able to lift at least 35 pounds, unassisted
- able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items, manual dexterity, and coordination to operate equipment
- dependable and reliable to handle equipment safely with a minimum amount of supervision.
