Medical Biller/Coder
Job Summary
Experienced Medical Biller/Coder for Ophthalmology Office. Three years experience in a medical office preferred, but will consider candidates with Medical Coding/Billing course within last five years. This is a part time position with excellent pay. Candidate must work at the office location without remote work options. Require an individual who is well trained, diligent, responsible with strong multitasking and people skills, and who can work independently. Salary will be commensurate with experience and abilities. Responsibilities and Duties
Position Summary:
To process insurance claims and perform follow-up procedures for delinquent accounts. Must be available to assist and work at reception as required.
Essential/ Primary Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Receive insurance claim forms, verify information, make adjustments as needed and mail to. Coding for medical exams and ophthalmic surgery.

- Answer clinic inquiries regarding patient insurance information.
- Answer patient inquiries regarding status of accounts, and document conversations in
appropriate patient records on computer.
- Attend all office meetings as directed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience and Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent degree.
- Prior experience in medical billing highly desirable
- Course in Medical Billing and Coding within last two years
- Able to form Excel spreadsheet
