Grayson Academy is seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant Director to join our leadership team.
This is more than a management position. We’re looking for someone who leads by example, builds strong relationships with teachers and families, and isn’t afraid to jump into a classroom when needed. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, flexible, and passionate about creating a positive learning environment for children and a supportive workplace for staff.

Schedule
Monday–Friday | 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Occasional flexibility for earlier shifts may be needed to support center operations.
Compensation
Grayson Academy believes in rewarding education, credentials, and professional growth. The Assistant Director position has a base starting rate of $15.00 per hour, and applicants must hold, at minimum, a current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
Additional compensation is based on your verified Georgia Professional Development System (GA PDS) Career Level
Because this position works the 12:00 PM–8:00 PM closing shift, an additional $1.00 per hour closing shift differential is added:
- Level 4 (CDA): $19.00/hour
- Level 5 & 6: $20.00/hour
- Level 7: $21.00/hour
- Level 8: $22.00/hour
- Level 9: $23.00/hour
- Level 10: $24.00/hour
All credentials and GA PDS Career Levels must be verified through the Georgia Professional Development System before the corresponding pay rate is applied.
Annual performance evaluations are conducted, and merit-based raises are awarded based on overall job performance and evaluation scores.

Responsibilities
- Support the daily operation of the center alongside the Owner and Director.
- Coach, mentor, and develop teaching staff.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and employees.
- Maintain compliance with Georgia childcare licensing regulations and Quality Rated standards.
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, classroom support, and center operations.
- Step into classrooms as needed to maintain quality care and licensing ratios.
- Model professionalism, teamwork, and strong leadership every day.
- Help foster a positive, respectful, and accountable workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a licensed childcare center.
- CDA, TCC, Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Georgia BFTS regulations.
- Experience with Quality Rated standards is strongly preferred.
- Previous leadership or management experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable providing classroom support whenever needed.
