If you enjoy creativity and crafting, this is the job for you! Mess Society is a brand new craft store specializing in jewelry making, rug tufting, soap making, and other small crafts. Our goal is to build community and create a space for everyone of all ages and skill levels to find enjoyment in crafting. In this role, you will be the key to delivering exceptional customer service, managing inventory, ensuring the store runs smoothly, and assisting customers with the creation of their projects. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding service to enhance their shopping experience
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves and organizing products
- Operate shipping & receiving processes to load & unload merchandise efficiently and accurately
- Assist in booking private events for groups and maintaining an organized schedule
- Overseeing customers' projects to insure safety and customer satisfaction
- Handle cashiering duties including retail math calculations, processing transactions, and managing cash register operations
- Maintain cleanliness of the store environment through regular cleaning, organizing stock areas, and ensuring safety standards are met
- Collaborate with team members to assist customers with product inquiries, and promote ongoing promotions and our loyalty program
Requirements
- Previous crafting experience not required but a huge plus!
- Ability to lift boxes up to 30lbs
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control and merchandising tasks
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Must be comfortable working with craft equipment such as rug tufting guns and hot plates
- Experience in retail sales, customer service, or teaching environments is highly desirable, but not required
- Knowledge of retail math for pricing, discounts, and transactions; basic maintenance skills are beneficial for store upkeep
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting with good organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
